Froila Guillamon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Harri Ansola made a huge save. 18 minutes into the match, Gauargi Salazar had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Montae Arena. independiente's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gauargi Salazar was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 25 minutes into the game, independiente's Froila Guillamon nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Harri Ansola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 28th minute, Osvaldo Cecilia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quique Proenza in the 30th minute of play forced independiente's goalkeeper Montae Arena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Quique Proenza stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Montae Arena didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gauargi Salazar went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After having played for 61 minutes, Quique Proenza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tacasaluma's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quique Proenza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Tacasaluma's Urbasa Abin got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 66 minutes into the match, independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Quique Proenza came free, but Montae Arena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Quique Proenza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Montae Arena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 91 played minutes Tacasaluma got a freekick which was hit by Asteri Vinambres. Harri Ansola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Envito in the 94th minute of play. Urbasa Abin's late challenge caught a independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urbasa Abin helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of independiente booed when Tacasaluma was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Urbasa Abin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Tacasaluma supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Tacasaluma would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
