After 2 played minutes Chocoviejo got a freekick which was hit by Maore Riart. If Javiero Sarandeses had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Garikoitz Berria managed to get in a good position for a shot. Jirripta's supporters rose to their feet, but Garikoitz Berria was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernabe Villa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Fernendo Troche came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Chocoviejo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernendo Troche couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the game, Chocoviejo's Fernendo Troche nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Isidoro Cadenas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Chepe Vilardell fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chocoviejo's protests and gave Chepe Vilardell a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes Chocoviejo got a freekick which was hit by Chepe Vilardell. Isidoro Cadenas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernendo Troche, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fernendo Troche's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Isidoro Cadenas read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. In the 32nd minute Javiero Sarandeses shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isidoro Cadenas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Javiero Sarandeses fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Cadenas having to interfere. Javiero Sarandeses received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Isidoro Cadenas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute Maore Riart suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. The supporters of Chocoviejo booed when Jirripta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldo Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Garikoitz Berria stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Chocoviejo's zone, Telmo Zumiel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernabe Villa came out of the goal and Telmo Zumiel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garikoitz Berria in the 76th minute of play forced Chocoviejo's goalkeeper Bernabe Villa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chepe Vilardell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Cadenas having to interfere. A collision led to Jirripta getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Benat Corres hit a great ball.
