Salvador Agunaga charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Salvador Agunaga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 7 minutes, Harkaitz Pendones mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Matamoros and the Hibacharo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Harkaitz Pendones hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Marco Valbuena struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Roque Olazagoitia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hibacharo. Jairo Bailina's late challenge caught a Matamoros's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jairo Bailina helped the player get up and apologised. Jairo Bailina kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Paulin Pedrais showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oso Tosantos in the 16th minute of the match. Mambru Parserises recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 23rd minute, Rodolfo Fajardo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cleto Cardeños sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Danel Urreta hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Paulin Pedrais made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mambru Parserises in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the match, Matamoros's goal looked a bit too open when Marco Valbuena came free, but Roque Olazagoitia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 41 minutes, Marco Valbuena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hibacharo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Valbuena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marco Valbuena in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roque Olazagoitia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Matamoros's Danel Urreta got a free kick in the 45th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Matamoros's goalkeeper Roque Olazagoitia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jairo Bailina. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
In the 53rd minute, Mambru Parserises got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Marco Valbuena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 57 minutes into the game, Marco Valbuena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Roque Olazagoitia was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rodolfo Fajardo kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Marco Valbuena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hibacharo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Oso Tosantos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulin Pedrais having to interfere. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Matamoros's goalkeeper Roque Olazagoitia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Mambru Parserises had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 81st minute of the match, Mambru Parserises tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Paulin Pedrais saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Roque Olazagoitia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Bailina in the 85th minute of the match. After having played for 86 minutes, Oso Tosantos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matamoros's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oso Tosantos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 89th minute, Oso Tosantos made a precise shot to the right of Paulin Pedrais. Hibacharo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Fajardo during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 98th match minute, Hibacharo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodolfo Fajardo to maneuver through the defense. Paulin Pedrais acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 99th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Peru Vuelvetoros. Hibacharo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
