The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, monkyd's goalkeeper Bernaldo Salais had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ruben Alceda. After a rather tough play, Vikings F.C's Innocenzio Yurrita got a free kick in the 8th minute. In the 9th minute of the match Emesto Torneira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Inaki Dueñas skillfully saved the ball. Inaki Dueñas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dalmu Urruela went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Inaki Dueñas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dalmu Urruela in the 15th minute of the match. After 16 minutes, Salbatore Cadenas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vikings F.C and the monkyd players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Vikings F.C getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Salbatore Cadenas hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dalmu Urruela in the 18th minute of play forced Vikings F.C's goalkeeper Inaki Dueñas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Inaki Dueñas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Savier Casa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Jacinto Detres came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Vikings F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacinto Detres couldn't finish the play. 41 minutes into the game, Vikings F.C's Larpe Durazno nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernaldo Salais made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Larpe Durazno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Larpe Durazno sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Cisco Diez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Emesto Torneira fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored monkyd's protests and gave Emesto Torneira a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for monkyd! Bernaldo Salais went to the wrong direction when Ruben Alceda was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Bernaldo Salais took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cisco Diez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Inaki Dueñas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Noe Profitos, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Larpe Durazno struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Bernaldo Salais didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vikings F.C. In the 83rd minute, monkyd's Savier Casa dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. 86 minutes into the match, monkyd's goal looked a bit too open when Ruben Alceda came free, but Bernaldo Salais reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. monkyd's Bernaldo Salais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jacinto Detres in the 87th minute of play. Bernaldo Salais came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Vikings F.C's Jacinto Detres. But to his dismay, Jacinto Detres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Cisco Diez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Bernaldo Salais tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Larpe Durazno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernaldo Salais having to interfere. A collision led to monkyd getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Noe Profitos hit a great ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Vikings F.C players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
