If Frederik Villayuste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 9 minutes into the match, Girardot's goalkeeper Batista Moracia had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frederik Villayuste. Girardot's Batista Moracia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Girardot from getting a goal against them. Batista Moracia made a fantastic save in the 18th minute, when Frederik Villayuste sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in GARCETO FC's zone, Montrelle Iriarte stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Americo Olavarria came out of the goal and Montrelle Iriarte tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Montrelle Iriarte's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Americo Olavarria was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frederik Villayuste got free with Batista Moracia in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 31st minute, Sazon Sotorrio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Americo Olavarria was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 37th minute of the match, Frederik Villayuste got a very nice opportunity to score, but Batista Moracia was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Laureano Rubian kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in GARCETO FC's zone, Sazon Sotorrio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The supporters of GARCETO FC booed when Girardot was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gregory Negrete didn't get a good kick on the ball. Montrelle Iriarte kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Americo Olavarria prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 79th match minute, GARCETO FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Borja to maneuver through the defense. Batista Moracia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frederik Villayuste, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
