In the 12th match minute, Rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cresenciano Santillan to maneuver through the defense. Batista Callergos might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Elia Lamas. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Batista Callergos ran back to his position shaking his head. 19 minutes into the match, Union's goal looked a bit too open when Batista Callergos came free, but Elia Lamas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Rangers's Viator Malet got a free kick in the 21st minute. Hector Orruma sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 25th minute, Cesaro Villasante made a precise shot to the right of Urtungo Paiz. Rangers's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The supporters of Rangers booed when Union was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domenec Hoyos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Urtungo Paiz came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Union's Hector Orruma. But to his dismay, Hector Orruma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. 34 minutes into the match, Union's Hector Orruma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Urtungo Paiz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 36th minute of the match Frichoso Piña shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Urtungo Paiz showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Union's Hector Orruma sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Urtungo Paiz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Urtungo Paiz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cesaro Villasante in the 43rd minute of the match. Hector Orruma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urtungo Paiz having to interfere. If Tipi Echaez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hector Orruma to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Rangers's Ariel Roca got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute, Herensuge Olivarez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Rangers's Urtungo Paiz didn't even have to move. Teofilio Matienzo hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Albano Santisso charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Albano Santisso the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Rangers booed when Union was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albano Santisso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 73rd minute, Cordairo Pala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 80th minute, Tipi Echaez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 81st minute, Domenec Hoyos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Batista Callergos struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Elia Lamas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rangers. Cesaro Villasante's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 86thth minute, Urtungo Paiz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. A collision led to Union getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Hector Orruma hit a great ball. The Union supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Union would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
