Senon Marzana was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Manex Obaldia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Manex Obaldia really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Mannie Mayoral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Galo Velamines in the 7th minute of the match. Corderun Cenal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Corderun Cenal got free with Senon Marzana in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 23 played minutes Negria got a freekick which was hit by Urtun Lecuna. Corderun Cenal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Senon Marzana read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Baldomero Mirueña's late challenge caught a Negria's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. A collision led to Negria getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Maurilio Pato hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Corderun Cenal during the 73rd minute.
