When Mancio Recasens came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Esperlan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mancio Recasens couldn't finish the play. Ovidio Portal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dabi Manzanedo having to make a save. In the 13th minute, Isadoro Sevillano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Horado Goitia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dabi Manzanedo was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Esperlan's Sesuldo Jaramillo got a free kick in the 17th minute. Dabi Manzanedo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Dabi Manzanedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horado Goitia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esperlan's Dabi Manzanedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horado Goitia in the 38th minute of play. Dabi Manzanedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horado Goitia in the 41st minute of the match. In the 48th minute Perfecto Echavarria shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dabi Manzanedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Horado Goitia to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Esperlan's zone, Horado Goitia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dabi Manzanedo came out of the goal and Horado Goitia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81st minute, Esperlan's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Ovidio Portal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Boniel Ason charged in rather forcefully in the 82nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Boniel Ason the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horado Goitia in the 89th minute of play forced Esperlan's goalkeeper Dabi Manzanedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Esperlan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Aguayo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
