Spectators: 6601 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1600, VIP seats: 1) Esperlan's Isadoro Sevillano started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Esperlan's zone, Oscar Leira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dabi Manzanedo came out of the goal and Oscar Leira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 7 minutes, Sesuldo Jaramillo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Esperlan and the Independientefc players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Esperlan getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Sesuldo Jaramillo hit a great ball. If Delmiro Naves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th minute Isadoro Sevillano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cordara Llago saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 14 played minutes Independientefc got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Leira. Delmiro Naves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cordara Llago having to interfere. Delmiro Naves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cordara Llago made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delmiro Naves in the 21st minute of play. Cordara Llago showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmiro Naves in the 26th minute of the match. 28 minutes into the game, Joey Chagavia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independientefc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Esperlan the free kick. In the 28th match minute, Independientefc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joey Chagavia to maneuver through the defense. It was beautiful to see Esperlan's Inigo Abeyta in action when he in the 30th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! After some careless play in the Esperlan defense, Nel Ferreros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dabi Manzanedo. The Esperlan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dabi Manzanedo should have stopped the shot. Esperlan's Dabi Manzanedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Peyo Castañedo in the 45th minute of play. When Nel Ferreros came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Independientefc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nel Ferreros couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Peyo Castañedo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute, Nel Ferreros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 59 played minutes, Independientefc's Eusko Pelaci shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dabi Manzanedo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Independientefc reached it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nel Ferreros in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dabi Manzanedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Delmiro Naves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cordara Llago took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isadoro Sevillano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute, Isadoro Sevillano fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Cordara Llago made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Delmiro Naves sent off a good shot on target. Dabi Manzanedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peyo Castañedo in the 83rd minute of play. Nel Ferreros might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dabi Manzanedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nel Ferreros ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Independientefc's Cordara Llago got control of the ball when Delmiro Naves tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 93 played minutes, Esperlan's Sanduru Meldasgoas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Cordara Llago came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Esperlan reached it. Delmiro Naves's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 96thth minute, Cordara Llago skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Esperlan walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
