Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eate Escarza in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cruz Mendigoitia prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The supporters of IND. SANTAFE booed when Lagartera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artaldo Moneda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pablo-Enrique Rafales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Betadur Ondarra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. If Eate Escarza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 45th minute, Eate Escarza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
