In the 6th minute, Cebo Millares made a precise shot to the right of Vergaray Aguilar. Real Madrid's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Maxin Fontoya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jairo Caras struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Vergaray Aguilar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matapalito. Maxin Fontoya sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Mitxel Zotes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Tulio Armendarez made a huge save. Vergaray Aguilar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cebo Millares in the 31st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mitxel Zotes got free with Tulio Armendarez in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ignatius Toldra scored 1-1 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tulio Armendarez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Real Madrid booed when Matapalito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Machado Peinador didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes Real Madrid got a freekick which was hit by Gaizka Barreiro. After 42nd play minutes Mitxel Zotes shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Tulio Armendarez and just under the crossbar into goal. 45 minutes into the match, Matapalito's goalkeeper Tulio Armendarez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mitxel Zotes. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignatius Toldra got free with Tulio Armendarez in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Maxin Fontoya to make the kick off. After 52 minutes Matapalito's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gaizka Barreiro who took care of the corner kick. If Maxin Fontoya had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jairo Caras in the 60thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vergaray Aguilar, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tulio Armendarez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maxin Fontoya in the 63rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maxin Fontoya in the 67th minute of play forced Matapalito's goalkeeper Tulio Armendarez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 68th minute, Ignatius Toldra hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vergaray Aguilar made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Jairo Caras sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Matapalito booed when Real Madrid was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silvestre Orsini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cebo Millares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Vergaray Aguilar made a huge save. A nice corner shot did that Rik Valiño got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vergaray Aguilar quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Matapalito's Tulio Armendarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maxin Fontoya in the 88th minute of play. Real Madrid walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
