Spectators: 7989 (Terracing: 5993, Seating: 1837, VIP seats: 159) Millonarios's Machado Mariaza started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Pio Duque notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Millonarios's Teodoro Tarulla. Teodoro Tarulla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 6 minutes, Iztal Alcano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the COSMOS and the Millonarios players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 6 played minutes COSMOS got a freekick which was hit by Iztal Alcano. Machado Mariaza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Godofredo Arteaga having to make a save. Hipolito Freyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elpidio Laspron took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Godofredo Arteaga. COSMOS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Godofredo Arteaga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maore Trarigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. After 16 played minutes, Millonarios's Erasto Gayoso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Godofredo Arteaga came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Millonarios reached it. After 20 minutes of play, Millonarios's Machado Mariaza made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Godofredo Arteaga was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the match, Millonarios's goalkeeper Teodoro Tarulla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pio Duque. Teodoro Tarulla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iztal Alcano, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Cambranes Beytia charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cambranes Beytia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 34 played minutes Millonarios got a freekick which was hit by Erasto Gayoso. Cecilio Burguete kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Godofredo Arteaga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Machado Mariaza in the 40th minute of play. 42 minutes into the match, Millonarios's goal looked a bit too open when Benito Berlanga came free, but Teodoro Tarulla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Maore Trarigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benito Berlanga made a kick off. Cecilio Burguete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Godofredo Arteaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hipolito Freyle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. After having played for 59 minutes, Machado Mariaza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Millonarios's supporters crossed their fingers, but Machado Mariaza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Machado Mariaza in the 62nd minute of play forced COSMOS's goalkeeper Godofredo Arteaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Teodoro Tarulla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pio Duque, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Hipolito Freyle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 68 played minutes Millonarios got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Freyle. When Elpidio Laspron fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Millonarios's protests and gave Elpidio Laspron a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Millonarios's Oalo Caroso got a free kick in the 81st minute. If Hipolito Freyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godofredo Arteaga came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Millonarios's Hipolito Freyle. But to his dismay, Hipolito Freyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Maore Trarigo might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godofredo Arteaga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Maore Trarigo ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 94th minute of the match Erasto Gayoso shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Godofredo Arteaga showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Millonarios were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
