Xayveon Norzagaray started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute Gaskon Castaños shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Arteaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gaskon Castaños came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Chachafruto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaskon Castaños couldn't finish the play. In the 10th minute, Christovao Pipa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Bermund Toranzo came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Chachafruto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bermund Toranzo couldn't finish the play. After 14 played minutes COSMOS got a freekick which was hit by Iztal Alcano. After some careless play in the COSMOS defense, Xayveon Norzagaray kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godofredo Arteaga. The COSMOS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godofredo Arteaga should have stopped the shot. In the 20th match minute, Chachafruto was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bemabe Eiriz to maneuver through the defense. Iztal Alcano hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. During the 27th minute of the match Iztal Alcano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Iztal Alcano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Iztal Alcano hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Bermund Toranzo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and COSMOS's Godofredo Arteaga didn't even have to move. 31 minutes into the match, COSMOS's goal looked a bit too open when Xayveon Norzagaray came free, but Godofredo Arteaga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaskon Castaños might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Godofredo Arteaga. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gaskon Castaños ran back to his position shaking his head. Gaskon Castaños recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ramirez Zuya during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, COSMOS's Ramirez Zuya got a free kick in the 43rd minute. COSMOS's Godofredo Arteaga played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bermund Toranzo in the 44th minute of play. Godofredo Arteaga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xayveon Norzagaray, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pio Duque blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diogo Lagos having to make a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pio Duque stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gaskon Castaños's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Godofredo Arteaga read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in COSMOS's zone, Gaskon Castaños stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Godofredo Arteaga came out of the goal and Gaskon Castaños tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xayveon Norzagaray received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Godofredo Arteaga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Godofredo Arteaga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gaskon Castaños in the 60th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xayveon Norzagaray in the 69th minute of play forced COSMOS's goalkeeper Godofredo Arteaga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 77th minute of the match, Xayveon Norzagaray tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Godofredo Arteaga saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Pio Duque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gaskon Castaños struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Godofredo Arteaga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chachafruto. In the 83rd minute Xayveon Norzagaray shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Arteaga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 85 minutes, Xayveon Norzagaray took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Godofredo Arteaga to make any attempt to save it. If Xayveon Norzagaray had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chachafruto's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
