The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Mosqueteros's Delmiro Pedroso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marek Žilák. Marek Žilák yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. In the 36th match minute, R.B Leipzig was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guifre Belloso to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Vicente Lopes Maciel in the 41st minute of play forced Mosqueteros's goalkeeper Reinaldo Vuelva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Delmiro Pedroso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Marek Žilák was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Delmiro Pedroso was the one to do the kick off. R.B Leipzig's Marek Žilák played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Theodore Arada in the 52nd minute of play. Marek Žilák showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmiro Pedroso, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Reinaldo Vuelva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedrinho Breckenfeld in the 57th minute. Abel Pardeo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marek Žilák having to interfere.
