In the 19thth minute of the game Bruno Colecchia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Glorioso Deportivo Cali's Ivar Bjurström was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Ribéry in the 28th minute of play forced Glorioso Deportivo Cali's goalkeeper Ivar Bjurström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
