In the 7th minute, Atarratze Somiedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Petrigai Estramiana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amador Redondas, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th minute, Ferdinand Vilaprenyo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 25 minutes, Amado Malla mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guaratara and the Deportivo San Diego players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 25th match minute, Guaratara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amado Malla to maneuver through the defense. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hibai Moron to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Guaratara's zone, Hibai Moron stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sanchez Patiño came out of the goal and Hibai Moron tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 64 minutes into the game, Hibai Moron cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Sanchez Patiño was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amado Malla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 85th minute Jonathan Cedeño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sanchez Patiño saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sanchez Patiño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hibai Moron in the 86th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hibai Moron in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sanchez Patiño prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sanchez Patiño made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jonathan Cedeño in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Deportivo San Diego had won after a very even match.
