The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 5 minutes, Sergi Severino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Catalina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergi Severino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 21st minute, Lauaxeta Sominaya hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Isidor Belarrinaga struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Eneas Encia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esteves. Odon Panadero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Marquina having to interfere. Eneas Encia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidor Belarrinaga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Isidor Belarrinaga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Eneas Encia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Andres Marquina was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 34thth minute of the game Maxin Largacha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Catalina's Eneas Encia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maxin Tuset received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Andres Marquina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Odon Panadero had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxin Largacha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eneas Encia having to interfere. In the 42nd minute, one of Esteves:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Esteves. In the 48th minute Maxin Largacha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eneas Encia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Odon Panadero to strike the kick off in the second half. Esteves's Cordarryl Loaces got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Catalina's Maxin Tuset got a free kick in the 59th minute. A collision led to Catalina getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Frans Valbaler hit a great ball. If Pierres Tojedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maxin Largacha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eneas Encia having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Sauveur Ansola fired a really elegant long shot, but Eneas Encia threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Catalina's goalkeeper Eneas Encia, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pierres Tojedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Marquina having to interfere. Pierres Tojedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Andres Marquina stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Odon Panadero's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Esteves's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
