When Alex Simon got free in front of the goal in the 17th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Yoel Pellicer was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Merecito FC's Zeledon Galan got a free kick in the 19th minute. Merecito FC's Nalo Garavito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lalla Bengoechea in the 24th minute of play. Alex Simon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Simon in the 34th minute of play forced Baschi's goalkeeper Yoel Pellicer to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute, Silverio Randoli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Desiderio Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Merecito FC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Desiderio Barreto hit a great ball. Nalo Garavito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lalla Bengoechea, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lalla Bengoechea blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Nalo Garavito having to make a save. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Raitin Resto hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Yoel Pellicer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alex Simon in the 59th minute of the match. Nalo Garavito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lalla Bengoechea in the 66th minute of play. When Baschi's Lalla Bengoechea in 69 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Nalo Garavito guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Garaile Parte's late challenge caught a Baschi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Garaile Parte helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Baschi booed when Merecito FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Garaile Parte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Yoel Pellicer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Simon in the 79th minute of play. If Mouricio Zayas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nalo Garavito made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Mouricio Zayas sent off a good shot on target. The Merecito FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Baschi's performance. The match ended with a win for Baschi.
