Lawrence Cuffaro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silverio Garavito, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ubelteso Cordons short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Julian Capon to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Julian Capon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubelteso Cordon in the 19th minute. After a rather tough play, Academia Nacional's Ernesto Ilisarri got a free kick in the 40th minute. A murmur of surprise went through the audience when Mineros De Guayana's Jenaro Villabel after having done a couple of nice dribblings in the 42nd minute of the game fired away a shot to his disappointment passed just outside the right post. Ubelteso Cordon scored 3-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julian Capon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Silverio Garavito made a kick off. After 56 played minutes Academia Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Xoan Carmenata. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silverio Garavito in the 60th minute of play forced Mineros De Guayana's goalkeeper Lawrence Cuffaro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julian Capon came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Mineros De Guayana's Oalo Esquivias. But to his dismay, Oalo Esquivias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Aznar Zulueta took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 68th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lawrence Cuffaro. Mineros De Guayana's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 69 minutes, Ubelteso Cordon mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mineros De Guayana and the Academia Nacional players grew even worse after the yellow card. 73 minutes into the match, Mineros De Guayana's goalkeeper Lawrence Cuffaro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Estebe Peñas. When Aritza Megid fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mineros De Guayana's protests and gave Aritza Megid a yellow card for diving instead. Aritza Megid hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Silverio Garavito got free with Lawrence Cuffaro in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Ubelteso Cordon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mineros De Guayana's supporters rose to their feet, but Ubelteso Cordon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julian Capon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ubelteso Cordon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Mineros De Guayana had played much better football throughout.
