Gieneguita FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Silvio Ramirez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Enol Cerdeiras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan-Alfredo Somonte in the 36th minute of the match. The referee gave Gieneguita FC a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Zorion Traslago, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Panama FC's Enol Cerdeiras. 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The supporters of Gieneguita FC booed when Panama FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haitz Irigoras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Enol Cerdeiras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zorion Traslago in the 74th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alonso Rio in the 83rd minute of play forced Gieneguita FC's goalkeeper Opilano Vivero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Silvio Ramirez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gieneguita FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvio Ramirez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Enol Cerdeiras breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Opilano Vivero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alonso Rio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Panama FC's Enol Cerdeiras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan-Alfredo Somonte in the 95th minute of play. Enol Cerdeiras made an important save on a dangerous shot by Silvio Ramirez in the 96th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gieneguita FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
