Nisio Lazaro came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by Athenas's Ospin Novoa. But to his dismay, Ospin Novoa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The referee felt a red card was in order, 7 minutes into the game, when Bilintx Onil put in a rough tackle. Bilintx Onil hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Porfiro Gallardo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Macerio Remiro. That made the score 1-1 in the 9 minute of play. Gervaso Biñuela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nisio Lazaro having to interfere. 13 minutes into the match, Gervaso Biñuela notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Academia Venezolana's Nisio Lazaro. Nisio Lazaro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 16th minute of the match Rudolfo Cañizares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nisio Lazaro skillfully saved the ball. After 19 minutes of play, Athenas's Cesareo PayµN made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nisio Lazaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Cesareo PayµN fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Athenas's protests and gave Cesareo PayµN a yellow card for diving instead. Gervaso Biñuela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nisio Lazaro came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by Athenas's Gervaso Biñuela. But to his dismay, Gervaso Biñuela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. Ospin Novoa hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Reynardo Pumares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The wind increased when Reynardo Pumares made the kick off in the second half. Rudolfo Cañizares kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After 52 played minutes, Academia Venezolana's Porfiro Gallardo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Macerio Remiro came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Academia Venezolana reached it. Reynardo Pumares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Nisio Lazaro made a huge save. When Reynardo Pumares came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Athenas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynardo Pumares couldn't finish the play. In the 57th match minute, Athenas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gervaso Biñuela to maneuver through the defense. The Athenas fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Athenas's Reynardo Pumares looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After 63 minutes of play, Athenas's Reynardo Pumares made it 1-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Nisio Lazaro was left in no man's land by his defense there! Macerio Remiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlo Guazo in the 79th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Aldomiro Matanza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Athenas's supporters rose to their feet, but Aldomiro Matanza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nisio Lazaro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 83 minutes into the match, Athenas's goal looked a bit too open when Bingen Nuño came free, but Macerio Remiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ospin Novoa during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 87th minute Bingen Nuño shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Macerio Remiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Aldomiro Matanza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 92 minutes, Cesareo PayµN managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Athenas's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cesareo PayµN was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Athenas played a much better game than Academia Venezolana and deserved their victory. The Academia Venezolana players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
