After a rather tough play, Ávila SC's Ourente Mateos got a free kick in the 12th minute. Bero Sarries took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donatello Amescua, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lorenzo Henao could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Bero Sarries made a huge save. Ávila SC's Bero Sarries played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilio Ontova in the 19th minute of play. Lorenzo Henao's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bero Sarries read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. Stanislao Perma showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xuaco Mascareñas in the 24th minute of the match. After 28 played minutes, Ávila SC's Urdaspal Riart shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stanislao Perma came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ávila SC reached it. 30 minutes into the game, Ávila SC's Iban Laguna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stanislao Perma made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lorenzo Henao in the 52nd minute of play forced Ávila SC's goalkeeper Bero Sarries to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ávila SC's Bero Sarries played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lorenzo Henao in the 55th minute of play. Xuaco Mascareñas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stanislao Perma having to interfere. 62 minutes into the game, Xuaco Mascareñas cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Stanislao Perma was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 65 played minutes Ávila SC got a freekick which was hit by Ourente Mateos. If Lorenzo Henao had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iban Laguna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Stanislao Perma tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ávila SC booed when CLUB Los irani was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofilio Ontova didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Xuaco Mascareñas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ávila SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xuaco Mascareñas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind CLUB Los irani's goalkeeper Stanislao Perma, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95thth minute of the game Lorenzo Henao who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ávila SC's Bero Sarries was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Ávila SC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ávila SC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
