With an extended leg and a bit of luck Emenon Hoyo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Esquipula Sanles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Corozalito FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Esquipula Sanles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emenon Hoyo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Academia FC defense, Esquipula Sanles kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emenon Hoyo. The Academia FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emenon Hoyo should have stopped the shot. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Esquipula Sanles made the kick off in the second half. Emenon Hoyo made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Jacobo Iraegui sent off a good shot on target. 55 minutes into the match, Corozalito FC's Esquipula Sanles sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emenon Hoyo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Jacobo Iraegui came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Corozalito FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jacobo Iraegui couldn't finish the play. Jacobo Iraegui charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jacobo Iraegui the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Corozalito FC's Jacobo Iraegui got a free kick in the 68th minute. Jacobo Iraegui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emenon Hoyo having to interfere. Corozalito FC's Jacobo Iraegui got his second yellow card of the match in the 77th minute. The referee ordered Jacobo Iraegui off the ground. Reyes Viciola didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Esquipula Sanles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th minute Justin Gorbin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emenon Hoyo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 98th minute, Esquipula Sanles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Corozalito FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
