An unexpectedly hard shot by Marino Cuenca in the 15th minute of play forced Tavacare F.C's goalkeeper Harriet Castañiza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harriet Castañiza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nuno Zuñiga in the 16th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the match, Tavacare F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Nuno Zuñiga came free, but Harriet Castañiza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Tavacare F.C's zone, Nuno Zuñiga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Harriet Castañiza came out of the goal and Nuno Zuñiga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 54 minutes, Estebano Aranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tavacare F.C and the Piritucual players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, one of Tavacare F.C:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Tavacare F.C. The referee gave Piritucual a penalty, 55 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rocendo Obiano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Tavacare F.C's Harriet Castañiza. 0-5. The corner led to Piritucual's Renaldo Medinilla getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 90th minute, Marino Cuenca left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Piritucual fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marino Cuenca got free with Harriet Castañiza in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
