In the 25th minute, Higinio Cachurro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. ACD Caracas's Romildo Mantilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gartzea Mansilla in the 26th minute of play. When Gartzea Mansilla got free in front of the goal in the 34th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Romildo Mantilla was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. In the 39th minute the ball was on its way in behind ACD Caracas's goalkeeper Romildo Mantilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
