Etxatxu Lavin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xaiver Raposo having to interfere. Ermengol Marines hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Oliverio Armero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leopoldo Arostegui in the 17th minute of the match. Alvaro Ruiloba struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Xaiver Raposo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for basc FC. Reinaldo Sabino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 24th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 29th minute basc FC were awarded a corner. Gerazan Goiri went to the cornerflag to take it. After 32 played minutes Colgate got a freekick which was hit by Milio Padilla. 35 minutes into the game, Alvaro Ruiloba cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Xaiver Raposo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some careless play in the Colgate defense, Gerazan Goiri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xaiver Raposo. The Colgate fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xaiver Raposo should have stopped the shot. When basc FC's Gerazan Goiri in the 46th minute got a chance for a shot 46th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Colgate's goalie prevented a goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gerazan Goiri stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute, Alvaro Ruiloba fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Xaiver Raposo, passed just outside the right post. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Eguen Abella took a quick shot and it went in 0-6 without a chance for Xaiver Raposo to make any attempt to save it. Oliverio Armero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Sabino, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd match minute, basc FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eguen Abella to maneuver through the defense. Xaiver Raposo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Etxatxu Lavin in the 67th minute. If Gerazan Goiri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Etxatxu Lavin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Xaiver Raposo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 78 minutes into the game, basc FC's Gerazan Goiri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xaiver Raposo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-8. Etxatxu Lavin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xaiver Raposo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gerazan Goiri, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silban Ybañez hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Gerazan Goiri in the 91stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Xaiver Raposo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Xaiver Raposo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rosalio Palacio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Etxatxu Lavin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Xaiver Raposo made a huge save. If Gerazan Goiri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over basc FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Colgate throughout the match.
