The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Chayo Sariego to make the kick off. Madeo Loayza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chayo Sariego in the 96th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Roque Dalton lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
