Leones de El Callao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Polentzi Fresno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodrigo Palmero got free with Teobaldo Matas in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Leones de El Callao's Teobaldo Matas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Polentzi Fresno in the 44th minute of play. With a little luck, Leones de El Callao's Teobaldo Matas got control of the ball when Rodrigo Palmero tried to sneak it across the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.
