Eron Bargues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hondo Cortez having to interfere. Eron Bargues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hondo Cortez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. When Eron Bargues came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the God s Blessings fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eron Bargues couldn't finish the play. Hondo Cortez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eron Bargues, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mendebal Telego in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hondo Cortez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute Eron Bargues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hondo Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mendebal Telego sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eron Bargues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Hondo Cortez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The God s Blessings fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eron Bargues to make the kick off.
