The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Bispo got free with Demesio Pruano in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Odol Lugunez's late challenge caught a Maracaibo City FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Odol Lugunez helped the player get up and apologised. Urbez Simon kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. When Marco Porcayo came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Rabanito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Porcayo couldn't finish the play. After 17 minutes of play, Rabanito's Laurendi Godinez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chinto Samano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Chinto Samano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nisio Sarandeses in the 21st minute of the match. Demesio Pruano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emilio Bispo went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Ugutz Lueje blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Demesio Pruano having to make a save. In the 33rd minute, Marco Porcayo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rabanito fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 39 minutes into the game, Rabanito's Marco Porcayo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Chinto Samano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Laurendi Godinez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rabanito's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurendi Godinez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Chinto Samano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marco Porcayo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Chinto Samano acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 63rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Ruisko Mesa. Chinto Samano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Porcayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Rabanito booed when Maracaibo City FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuriko Diaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Laurendi Godinez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Chinto Samano made a huge save. After 68 played minutes Maracaibo City FC got a freekick which was hit by Maximo Illanes. Chinto Samano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laurendi Godinez in the 69th minute. If Laurendi Godinez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Marco Porcayo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Chinto Samano was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 85th minute, Rabanito's Laurendi Godinez dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. If Buinton Retana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Marco Porcayo came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the Rabanito fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marco Porcayo couldn't finish the play. Zuriko Diaz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Rabanito played a much better game than Maracaibo City FC and deserved their victory. The Maracaibo City FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
