When Guipuzkoa Virto came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Anselmito FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guipuzkoa Virto couldn't finish the play. 18 minutes into the game, Bilbo Corres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Valencia F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Anselmito FC the free kick. 22 minutes into the match, Guipuzkoa Virto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Deportivo Valencia F.C's César Soto. César Soto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. César Soto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leonel Moreruela went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Leonel Moreruela might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over César Soto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leonel Moreruela ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Valencia F.C's zone, Kemen Lagrana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Soto came out of the goal and Kemen Lagrana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Anselmito FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 38th minute, when Antoine Saint-Exupéry scored to the left of an out of position Tancredo Tascon, making the score, 1-2. After 40 played minutes Deportivo Valencia F.C got a freekick which was hit by Imanol Hondaro. Leonel Moreruela sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bilbo Corres kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. The supporters of Anselmito FC booed when Deportivo Valencia F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Severino Faso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guipuzkoa Virto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Soto having to interfere. After the first half Anselmito FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Claude Adrales made the kick off in the second half. Bartolome Teresa took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised César Soto. César Soto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. In the 55th minute, Severino Faso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Guipuzkoa Virto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 59 minutes into the match, Deportivo Valencia F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Guipuzkoa Virto came free, but César Soto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bilbo Corres kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. César Soto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonel Moreruela in the 69th minute of the match. Guipuzkoa Virto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. César Soto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Leonel Moreruela had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guipuzkoa Virto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Soto having to interfere. In the 76th match minute, Deportivo Valencia F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Imanol Hondaro to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 77 minutes, Blanco Rendain managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Anselmito FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Blanco Rendain was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guipuzkoa Virto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but César Soto made a huge save. César Soto made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Guipuzkoa Virto sent off a good shot on target. 93 minutes into the match, Leonel Moreruela dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of César Soto, 1-4. César Soto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Moreruela in the 96th minute of play. Guipuzkoa Virto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Soto having to interfere.
