Universidad Caracas's Gomez Sarra got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 13th minute, Llorienzo Diez fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Renaldo Trueba recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nastasio Fontanez was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hipolito Castrillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Llorienzo Diez reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nastasio Fontanez. The goal made the score 3-0. Nastasio Fontanez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hipolito Castrillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31st minute Gomez Sarra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zorion Cepeda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Renaldo Trueba made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Renaldo Trueba in the 51st minute of play forced Universidad Caracas's goalkeeper Nastasio Fontanez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Universidad Caracas's zone, Renaldo Trueba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nastasio Fontanez came out of the goal and Renaldo Trueba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 66th minute, Universidad Caracas's Gomez Sarra ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zorion Cepeda. Zorion Cepeda yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-1. Chago Calero blasted a shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zorion Cepeda having to make a save. Renaldo Trueba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Nastasio Fontanez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nastasio Fontanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipolito Castrillo in the 77th minute of play. Nastasio Fontanez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renaldo Trueba in the 79th minute of the match. Zulia FC's Zorion Cepeda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gomez Sarra in the 83rd minute of play. The Zulia FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. After 94 minutes, Osasun Verde mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zulia FC and the Universidad Caracas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Osasun Verde hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Zulia FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Universidad Caracas had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
