Yücel Başaran made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Rudolfo Giraldez sent off a good shot on target. 4 minutes into the game, Ali Makkeb was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guayabacoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.D.P. the free kick. In the 4th minute, Ali Makkeb hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rayman Tellez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Yücel Başaran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cresconio Quiles hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Rudolfo Giraldez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yücel Başaran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rayman Tellez, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Bülent Korkmaz's late challenge caught a C.D.P.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bülent Korkmaz helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Guayabacoa got a freekick which was hit by Bülent Korkmaz. When Xacintu Nieto fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Guayabacoa's protests and gave Xacintu Nieto a yellow card for diving instead. Xacintu Nieto kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Natal Burcena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xacintu Nieto in the 39th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, C.D.P.'s Salvadore Rabago got a free kick in the 40th minute. After having played for 41 minutes, Xacintu Nieto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guayabacoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xacintu Nieto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the game, Alvaro Riguez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guayabacoa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave C.D.P. the free kick. The supporters of C.D.P. booed when Guayabacoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alvaro Riguez didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xacintu Nieto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Domingos Guillelme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cresconio Quiles hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Guayabacoa's zone, Rayman Tellez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Yücel Başaran came out of the goal and Rayman Tellez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rudolfo Giraldez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Yücel Başaran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 60 minutes into the match, Guayabacoa's goal looked a bit too open when Rayman Tellez came free, but Yücel Başaran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Guayabacoa defense, Rayman Tellez kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Yücel Başaran. The Guayabacoa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Yücel Başaran should have stopped the shot. 66 minutes into the match, C.D.P.'s goal looked a bit too open when Xacintu Nieto came free, but Natal Burcena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Guayabacoa's Ali Makkeb got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in C.D.P.'s zone, Ali Makkeb stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Natal Burcena came out of the goal and Ali Makkeb tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 78 minutes of play, C.D.P.'s Rudolfo Giraldez made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Yücel Başaran was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 83rd minute, Xacintu Nieto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute Cresconio Quiles suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. Rocendo Balaunde charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rocendo Balaunde the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Rocendo Balaunde kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Gregorio Banegas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 93 minutes, Xacintu Nieto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guayabacoa's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xacintu Nieto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hodei Guernica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Yücel Başaran tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. C.D.P. walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
