The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Jacques Huysmans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tome Usel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th minute, Leonardo Tofiño hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Edilberto Lacalle charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edilberto Lacalle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Bucare EFD booed when Union Lara FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edilberto Lacalle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bucare EFD's Jacques Huysmans got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Eladio Ruidiaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Tome Usel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ximenes Castilla scored 1-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tome Usel, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Edilberto Lacalle received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ramon Wright came out and tried to block the shot, but Edilberto Lacalle slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 28th minute. A nice corner shot did that Oskitz Moncada got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tome Usel quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Tome Usel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacques Huysmans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 37 minutes of play, Bucare EFD's Eladio Ruidiaz made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tome Usel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ximenes Castilla in the 39th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tome Usel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The Bucare EFD fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Bucare EFD's Ximenes Castilla looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tome Usel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacques Huysmans, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The Union Lara FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bucare EFD were winning 2-3.
Bucare EFD's Erik Carlsson was substituted for Ximenes Castilla. The wind increased when Savier Labora made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Union Lara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacques Huysmans came free, but Tome Usel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artur Acereda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erik Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tome Usel having to interfere. Eladio Ruidiaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Tome Usel made a huge save. 62 minutes into the match, Union Lara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jacques Huysmans came free, but Tome Usel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Union Lara FC's Tome Usel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Union Lara FC from getting a goal against them. After 70 minutes, Erik Carlsson made it 2-4 with a short kick to the right side. Union Lara FC's Tome Usel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Union Lara FC's Francis Salazar was substituted for Lei Fei Song. Union Lara FC's Tome Usel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natã Kut in the 77th minute of play. Bucare EFD were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after Union Lara FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ascencio Bardeci took the corner. Tome Usel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erik Carlsson went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. Erik Carlsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Tome Usel made a huge save. In the 92nd minute Edilberto Lacalle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Wright saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Union Lara FC's Leonardo Tofiño got a free kick in the 94th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jacques Huysmans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bucare EFD's supporters rose to their feet, but Jacques Huysmans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tome Usel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 97 minutes into the match, Union Lara FC's goalkeeper Tome Usel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Erik Carlsson. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Bucare EFD eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
