The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rick Haremeijer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Baltasar Espada tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Claudio Echeverri's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Baltasar Espada read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Lorien Blanco kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Geovani de Salles made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when 冯广政 sent off a good shot on target. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ríver Late's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Saturnin Garrido was slow to take the kick. During this time Mineros de Guayana's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in 冯广政 almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ríver Late's Geovani de Salles did a great save. Baltasar Espada showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 尤城平, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. After 23 played minutes Mineros de Guayana got a freekick which was hit by Raymond Areces. Baran Sarka recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 冯广政 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovani de Salles having to interfere. Claudio Echeverri might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Baltasar Espada. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Claudio Echeverri ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute Claudio Echeverri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltasar Espada saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Mineros de Guayana's goal looked a bit too open when Claudio Echeverri came free, but Baltasar Espada reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ríver Late were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after Mineros de Guayana's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. João Francisco Silveira took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in 尤城平 heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 43rd minute Saturnin Garrido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovani de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mineros de Guayana booed when Ríver Late was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rick Haremeijer didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

51 minutes into the game, Ríver Late's Claudio Echeverri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Baltasar Espada made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The audience was convinced that Saturnin Garrido's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geovani de Salles was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Ríver Late's Espiridion Ascot was substituted for Claudio Echeverri. A collision led to Mineros de Guayana getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Rocco Siffredi hit a great ball. Mineros de Guayana's Baltasar Espada played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Espiridion Ascot in the 62nd minute of play. Geovani de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olavo Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Baltasar Espada stood somewhat misplaced when Espiridion Ascot came free in front of goal and shot 0-3 to the left of him in the 67 minute. Ríver Late's Dimas Barrientos was substituted for 尤城平. Ríver Late's Espiridion Ascot suffered a concussion after 87 minutes and had to leave the field. The supporters of Ríver Late booed when Mineros de Guayana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Remigiusz Wielopolski didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Saturnin Garrido managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mineros de Guayana's supporters crossed their fingers, but Saturnin Garrido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ríver Late's Carl Skytt got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 94th minute, Peter Angostina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
