Spectators: 5003 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1002, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Matt Mayer kicked off to start the match. Salvatore Bower fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kirby Leslie having to interfere. 5 minutes into the match, East Freehold's goal looked a bit too open when Guy Curtis came free, but Kirby Leslie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, GAIS's Guy Curtis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kirby Leslie narrowly saved just below the crossbar. East Freehold's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Guy Curtis scored to the left of an out of position Kirby Leslie, making the score, 1-0. Salvatore Bower could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Kirby Leslie made a huge save. In the 11th minute, Matt Mayer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The East Freehold fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The crowd rose to their feet as GAIS's Guy Curtis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kirby Leslie. That made the score 2-1 after 22 minutes of play. Salvatore Bowers short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Kirby Leslie to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. GAIS's Salvatore Bower was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 30th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Salvatore Bower had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Guy Curtis came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the GAIS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guy Curtis couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernando Mullins during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 41 played minutes East Freehold got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Mullins. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Salvatore Bower in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kirby Leslie prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabian Middleton made an important save on a dangerous shot by Robin Simon in the 62nd minute. Fabian Middleton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matt Mayer in the 69th minute of the match. Kirby Leslie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Guy Curtis in the 73rd minute of play. Edmund Suggs kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Kirby Leslie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guy Curtis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmund Suggs during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience was convinced that Guy Curtis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kirby Leslie was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The GAIS fans cheered their team off the field, for while East Freehold had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
