Darnell Coats hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Oswaldo Hicks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lakeland North AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Oswaldo Hicks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bronson Vaughn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 35th minute, Oswaldo Hicks fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Asher Wiseman's late challenge caught a Abernathy AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Asher Wiseman helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th match minute, Lakeland North AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asher Wiseman to maneuver through the defense. Randolph Medley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Abernathy AFC booed when Lakeland North AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Asher Wiseman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner ended in Ricardo Hathaway almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Lakeland North AFC's Phil Graham did a great save. Oswaldo Hicks scored 1-0 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bronson Vaughn, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The wind increased when Oswaldo Hicks made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oswaldo Hicks in the 53rd minute of play forced Abernathy AFC's goalkeeper Bronson Vaughn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oswaldo Hicks fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bronson Vaughn having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Monroe Gutierrez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bronson Vaughn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oswaldo Hicks in the 68th minute of play. 77 minutes in the game, Randolph Medley fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Phil Graham having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Bates during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 85th match minute, Abernathy AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Bates to maneuver through the defense.
