Twinsburg AFC's Levi Beyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pete Kendrick in the 9th minute of play. Michigan City's Nicky McCullough proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Michigan City from getting a goal against them. Chris Sanford charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chris Sanford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th minute, Chris Sanford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pete Kendrick scored 0-1 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Levi Beyer, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Kirk Chappelle came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Michigan City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kirk Chappelle couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Twinsburg AFC's Mitch Saldana got a free kick in the 21st minute. Bennett Mohr hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 29 minutes, Roland Kirby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Twinsburg AFC and the Michigan City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kirk Chappelle to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Michigan City's zone, Percy Goss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicky McCullough came out of the goal and Percy Goss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Michigan City getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Bennett Mohr hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Michigan City's zone, Percy Goss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicky McCullough came out of the goal and Percy Goss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pete Kendrick received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Levi Beyer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Levi Beyer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pete Kendrick in the 62nd minute. Nicky McCullough took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percy Goss, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Kirk Chappelle got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Levi Beyer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pete Kendrick in the 72nd minute. When the match clock showed 73 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ty Beck sped through Michigan City's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nicky McCullough. Cedric Elkins hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Levi Beyer made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antony Nicholson in the 81st minute. Pete Kendrick who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 83rdth minute tested the skills of Levi Beyer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 84 minutes of play Twinsburg AFC's Chris Sanford was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kirk Chappelle in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Levi Beyer saved Twinsburg AFC from getting behind. If Percy Goss had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland Kirby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicky McCullough having to interfere. After some careless play in the Michigan City defense, Roland Kirby kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nicky McCullough. The Michigan City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nicky McCullough should have stopped the shot. Twinsburg AFC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Michigan City for a fine match.
