The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10thth minute of the game Rene Arlo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wellston's Monte Finney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Wellston's goal looked a bit too open when Ofelio Talledo came free, but Monte Finney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rene Arlo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Matthew Farr kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. In the 20th minute, Rene Arlo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Monte Finney was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Ofelio Talledo struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Monte Finney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pocola FC. In the 27th minute Wiley Whitley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damien Riker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ofelio Talledo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Monte Finney having to make a save. Pocola FC's Damien Riker proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Pocola FC from getting a goal against them. If Ofelio Talledo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Rene Arlo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Monte Finney was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Ofelio Talledo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Monte Finney having to make a save. In the 44th minute Rene Arlo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Monte Finney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Damien Riker showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiley Whitley, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Ofelio Talledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Monte Finney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wiley Whitley to make the kick off. Rene Arlo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Monte Finney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 60th minute by Rene Arlo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 63 minutes into the game, one of Pocola FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Wellston. Raymundo Schumacher stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Damien Riker. 1-1. Felipe Waters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damien Riker having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Wiley Whitley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damien Riker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ross Gary fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wellston's protests and gave Ross Gary a yellow card for diving instead. In the 73rd match minute, Wellston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ross Gary to maneuver through the defense. After 79 played minutes Wellston got a freekick which was hit by Ross Gary. Pocola FC's Rene Arlo got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute Ross Gary shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Damien Riker saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Ross Gary hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marlin Burton struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Monte Finney didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pocola FC. Wellston succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Pocola FC had controlled the match.
