Twinsburg AFC's Levi Beyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wiley Whitley in the 25th minute of play. Monte Finney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percy Goss in the 29th minute of play. Felipe Waters struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Levi Beyer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wellston. Felipe Waters's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Levi Beyer read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. Wellston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Twinsburg AFC the free kick. Ross Gary hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 45th minute Percy Goss shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Monte Finney saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wiley Whitley to strike the kick off in the second half.
