The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eric Salinas during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Bart Aragon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. During the 68th minute of the match Dario Forbes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dario Forbes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 69th match minute, Feather Sound AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dario Forbes to maneuver through the defense. Steven Sims took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bart Aragon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bart Aragon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steven Sims having to make a save. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steven Sims showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Ignacio Lyle put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Steven Sims. After 81 minutes of play Mexico AFC's Owen Vargas was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Shane Groom made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gary Douglas in the 84th minute of play. Bart Aragon struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Steven Sims didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico AFC. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Mexico AFC had won after a very even match.
