The Westmere AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elijah Reyna should have stopped the shot. Federico Hargrove was extremely unlucky when he, in the 18th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Devon Washburn's late challenge caught a Athletic Club Hermosa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Devon Washburn helped the player get up and apologised. Devon Washburn hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by William Wallace during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st minute, William Wallace hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Seth Watt in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abdul Geiger saved Athletic Club Hermosa from getting behind. Elijah Reyna made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Federico Hargrove sent off a good shot on target. In the 42nd minute Denver Bowling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abdul Geiger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elijah Reyna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 58th minute, Tommy Lee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denver Bowling could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Abdul Geiger made a huge save. Abdul Geiger took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seth Watt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th match minute, Athletic Club Hermosa was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brent Wiley to maneuver through the defense. Denver Bowling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Abdul Geiger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Elijah Reyna showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wade Kuhn in the 89th minute of the match. Seth Watt was extremely unlucky when he, in the 91st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After a defensive mix-up in Athletic Club Hermosa's zone, Denver Bowling stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdul Geiger came out of the goal and Denver Bowling tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Seth Watt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
