Sergio Cherry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Peter Jennings tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th match minute, Boston City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dylan Duran to maneuver through the defense. 12 minutes into the match, Algona AFC's Trey Harmon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jackson Pina narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 13 minutes in the game, Lanny Gunter fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Peter Jennings having to interfere. Lanny Gunter might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Peter Jennings. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lanny Gunter ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trey Harmon in the 29th minute of play forced Boston City FC's goalkeeper Jackson Pina to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dylan Duran in the 33rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Peter Jennings, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Lanny Gunter had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Algona AFC's zone, Lanny Gunter stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Peter Jennings came out of the goal and Lanny Gunter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Peter Jennings made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sergio Cherry in the 46th minute.

The wind increased when Lanny Gunter made the kick off in the second half. Peter Jennings didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Boston City FC's Lanny Gunter shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. After a rather tough play, Algona AFC's Ryan Wolff got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Sergio Cherry scored 3-0 in the 76th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Peter Jennings, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lanny Gunter in the 81st minute of play forced Algona AFC's goalkeeper Peter Jennings to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Boston City FC had won after a very even match.
