Mexico's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leif Ashley was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Teodoro Kearney hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramiro Mullen in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Stacy Britt saved Mexico from getting behind. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ramiro Mullen was the one to do the kick off. Leif Ashley might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Stacy Britt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Leif Ashley ran back to his position shaking his head. Dana Reilly sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the game, Ramiro Mullen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Stacy Britt was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 81 minutes, Ramiro Mullen made it 1-7 with a short kick to the right side.
