Seating: 1714, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Milan Newsome made the kick off which started today's match. Lee Massey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Milan Newsome in the 4th minute of the match. The Westport FC fans' excitement grew in the 7th match minute when Westport FC's Hélder Ribeiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Jermaine Deleon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Ribeiro in the 10th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Hélder Ribeiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jermaine Deleon. Shady Side's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hélder Ribeiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Hélder Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Deleon having to interfere. Jermaine Deleon came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Westport FC's Eldon Jernigan. But to his dismay, Eldon Jernigan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Hélder Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hélder Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jermaine Deleon having to interfere. Jermaine Deleon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eldon Jernigan in the 42nd minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Westport FC's goalkeeper Lee Massey had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Parker Siegel. Hélder Ribeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Jermaine Deleon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Westport FC were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The wind increased when Hélder Ribeiro made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Hélder Ribeiro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jermaine Deleon. That made the score 0-6 in the 53 minute of play. The supporters of Shady Side booed when Westport FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mitch Whitman didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arthur Finch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jermaine Deleon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Shady Side's Robert Davidson got a free kick in the 65th minute. 0-7 came in the 67th minute when Hélder Ribeiro all by himself managed to get straight through the defense and place the ball into the net to the right of Jermaine Deleon. 71 minutes into the match, Westport FC's Hélder Ribeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jermaine Deleon narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Parker Siegel during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Westport FC's Hélder Ribeiro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jermaine Deleon. That made the score 0-8 after 85 minutes of play. Lee Massey stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Milan Newsome's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. Jermaine Deleon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélder Ribeiro in the 95th minute of play. Shady Side's Jermaine Deleon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Ribeiro in the 98th minute of play. The Westport FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Westport FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
