Ballwin AFC's Theron Betts proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Ballwin AFC from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Moses Barron's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Theron Betts was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Monty Healy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Alvaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 23 minutes, Sylvester Cardona mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the New Cumberland and the Ballwin AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 23rd minute, Sylvester Cardona hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ballwin AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arturo Kurtz in the 26th minute. Ballwin AFC's Arturo Kurtz was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Monty Healy in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 28th minute, Jeffrey Winn got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gilberto Alvaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Monty Healy having to interfere. Gilberto Alvaro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Monty Healy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carl North struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Monty Healy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ballwin AFC. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carl North was the one to do the kick off. Moses Barron took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Theron Betts. Theron Betts dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 62nd minute, Willie Wagner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute, Gilberto Alvaro fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Monty Healy. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Ballwin AFC's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. The nice shot from Gilberto Alvaro in the 64thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Monty Healy had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. When Gilberto Alvaro in the 64th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Monty Healy kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 1-2 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. In the 67thth minute of the game Moses Barron who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballwin AFC's Theron Betts was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ballwin AFC's Theron Betts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moses Barron in the 69th minute of play. 72 minutes into the game, Dustin Dias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballwin AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave New Cumberland the free kick. After 73 played minutes Ballwin AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dustin Dias. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in New Cumberland reached it. After 75 played minutes New Cumberland got a freekick which was hit by Willie Wagner. Gilberto Alvaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jeffrey Winn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Theron Betts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dustin Dias hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Theron Betts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeffrey Winn, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. New Cumberland's Monty Healy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carl North in the 89th minute of play. If Gilberto Alvaro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. New Cumberland's Monty Healy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save New Cumberland from getting a goal against them.
