Guy Kirby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marvin Myers, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 10th minute of the match, Saul Presley got a very nice opportunity to score, but Arturo Holzer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 13th match minute, East Washington was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Lamb to maneuver through the defense. Eveleth's Arturo Holzer proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Eveleth from getting a goal against them. East Washington's Domingo Hartley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arturo Holzer in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpected shot in the 37th minute by Saul Presley got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Patrick Lamb sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 40 minutes into the match, East Washington's goal looked a bit too open when Marvin Myers came free, but Guy Kirby reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gilbert Vaughan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Arturo Holzer having to make a save. In the 43rd minute, Saul Presley made a precise shot to the right of Arturo Holzer. Eveleth's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Caleb Neal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Marvin Myers stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Saul Presley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Arturo Holzer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saul Presley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Holzer having to interfere. In the 59th minute, J.P. Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eveleth's goalkeeper Arturo Holzer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Saul Presley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee ignored Eveleth's protests and gave Kerry Mosher a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes Eveleth got a freekick which was hit by Kerry Mosher. Saul Presley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arturo Holzer having to interfere.
