Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Shelby Hawk took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 played minutes Granite City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Blalock. Wilford Barajas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but J.C. Valdez made a huge save. Wilford Barajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without J.C. Valdez having to interfere. Travis Swift sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 played minutes Granite City AFC got a freekick which was hit by Nelson Blalock. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilford Barajas got free with J.C. Valdez in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kurt Ryder during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Granite City AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Mayflower Village AFC. Matt MacDowell stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Renato Ramey. 1-1. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 43rd minute of the game. One of Mayflower Village AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Granite City AFC:s goal. The referee gave Granite City AFC a penalty, 44 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jude Burrell, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mayflower Village AFC's J.C. Valdez. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Travis Swift stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Travis Swift in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck J.C. Valdez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Alan Prather fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mayflower Village AFC's protests and gave Alan Prather a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Granite City AFC booed when Mayflower Village AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Prather didn't get a good kick on the ball. Travis Swift struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. J.C. Valdez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Granite City AFC. Perry Freeman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Travis Swift sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. J.C. Valdez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wilford Barajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Valdez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilford Barajas in the 69th minute of play. Mayflower Village AFC's J.C. Valdez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Travis Swift in the 71st minute of play. J.C. Valdez came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Granite City AFC's Wilford Barajas. But to his dismay, Wilford Barajas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Wilford Barajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without J.C. Valdez having to interfere. Roosevelt Bridges's late challenge caught a Granite City AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roosevelt Bridges helped the player get up and apologised. In the 79th minute, Roosevelt Bridges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 81 minutes into the match, Wilford Barajas notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Mayflower Village AFC's J.C. Valdez. J.C. Valdez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 84 minutes into the match, Granite City AFC's Travis Swift sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that J.C. Valdez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Mayflower Village AFC's Chuck Dominguez got a free kick in the 85th minute. J.C. Valdez came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Granite City AFC's Wilford Barajas. But to his dismay, Wilford Barajas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-1. Wilford Barajas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without J.C. Valdez having to interfere. Granite City AFC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
