The audience was convinced that Virgilio Martin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Trenton Overton was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 17thth minute of the game Claude Cartwright who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kalaoa's Tommie Cody was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stanley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claude Cartwright was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kalaoa's Tommie Cody played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claude Cartwright in the 27th minute of play. Wayne Conley charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Trenton Norman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stanley's supporters rose to their feet, but Trenton Norman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommie Cody breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
