Spectators: 6723 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1723, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Olin Braden started the match with the kick off. If Olin Braden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hugh Woodson kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Antoine Lay notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Kennett Square's Grant Gomez. Grant Gomez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Kennett Square's Hugh Woodson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 18th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Spencer Denson but with some difficulty. Grant Gomez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olin Braden's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antoine Lay in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Grant Gomez saved Kennett Square from getting behind. 34 minutes into the match, Antoine Lay had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Grant Gomez. Kennett Square's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antoine Lay was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. If Antoine Lay had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 46th minute, Olin Braden got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Grant Gomez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antoine Lay, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Geraldo Hurd stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Antoine Lay came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Boonton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Antoine Lay couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Moses Espinoza in the 57th minute of play forced Kennett Square's goalkeeper Grant Gomez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antoine Lay received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Grant Gomez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Antoine Lay charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antoine Lay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Antoine Lay kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Boonton's Olin Braden got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Kennett Square getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Clay Bright hit a great ball. 66 minutes into the match, Kennett Square's goalkeeper Grant Gomez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antoine Lay. In the 67th match minute, Kennett Square was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Van Piper to maneuver through the defense. Olin Braden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Grant Gomez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Boonton's William Tabor got a free kick in the 82nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Boonton's zone, Geraldo Hurd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Spencer Denson came out of the goal and Geraldo Hurd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Boonton's goal looked a bit too open when Geraldo Hurd came free, but Spencer Denson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Boonton booed when Kennett Square was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugh Woodson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boonton's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
